Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): This research focuses on the empowerment of Remu Traditional Market traders in Sorong City who have not been able to compete amid the rampant presence of modern markets in Sorong City. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to examine the empowerment of Remu Traditional Market merchants in improving the economic welfare of merchants. Method: This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, documentation, and data triangulation techniques. Determination of informants using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Result: The author finds that the empowerment of Remu Traditional Market merchants in Sorong City is able to empower business actors by providing socialisation, training and empowerment. However, market managers in organising or rebuilding market facilities and infrastructure need to be improved, this affects the empowerment of merchants. Conclusion: There needs to be an effort from the Sorong City Government and the market manager to make traders aware consistently. As well as good cooperation between the Sorong City Government and the market manager in organising or rebuilding market facilities and infrastructure so that the implementation of this empowerment is more optimal. Keywords: Empowerment, Market Merchants, Governance ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Penelitian ini berfokus pada pemberdayaan pedagang Pasar Tradisional Remu di Kota Sorong yang belum mampu bersaing ditengah maraknya keberadaan pasar modern di Kota Sorong. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pemberdayaan pedagang Pasar Tradisional Remu dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan perekonomian pedagang. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan Teknik triangulasi data. Penentuan informan menggunakan purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Hasil/Temuan: Penulis menemukan pemberdayaan pedagang Pasar Tradisional Remu di Kota Sorong mampu memberdayakan pelaku usaha dengan memberikan sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pemberdayaan. Namun pengelola pasar dalam menata atau membangun kembali sarana dan prasarana pasar perlu ditingkatkan, hal ini mempengaruhi dalam pemberdayaan pedagang. Kesimpulan: Perlu adanya upaya dari Pemerintah Kota Sorong dan Pihak pengelola pasar untuk menyadarkan pedagang secara konsisten. Serta kerja sama yang baik antara Pemerintah Kota Sorong dan pihak pengelola pasar dalam menata atau membangun Kembali sarana dan prasaran pasar agar pelaksanaan pemberdayaan ini semakin optimal.
