Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Floods in Lake Tigi, Tigi District, Deiyai Regency, Central Papua, are often caused by high and continuous rainfall. The solution needed is better planning and management of the water volume and drainage system around the lake. Purpose: This research aims to analyze flood mitigation strategies and rising water levels of Lake Tigi and identify the challenges and efforts of the Deiyai Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency. Method: In this research, researchers used descriptive qualitative methods by applying interview, observation and documentation techniques to gain a comprehensive understanding of flood mitigation and rising water levels of Lake Tigi in Tigi District, Deiyai Regency, Central Papua Province. Result: The research results confirm that the Deiyai Regency BPBD has been responsive and active in dealing with flood disasters and the increase in water volume in Lake Tigi and the surrounding rivers. This reflects their seriousness in protecting citizens and reducing losses due to natural disasters. Conclusion : The conclusion of this research shows that the mitigation efforts of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in dealing with flooding and increasing the water volume of Lake Tigi in Tigi District, Deiyai Regency, Central Papua, are considered quite effective overall. Keywords: BPBD Performance, Floods, Flood Disaster Management ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Banjir di Danau Tigi, Distrik Tigi, Kabupaten Deiyai, Papua Tengah, sering disebabkan oleh curah hujan tinggi dan berkelanjutan. Solusi yang diperlukan adalah perencanaan dan manajemen yang lebih baik terhadap volume air dan sistem drainase di sekitar danau. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi mitigasi banjir dan kenaikan permukaan air Danau Tigi serta mengidentifikasi tantangan dan upaya Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah Kabupaten Deiyai. Metode: Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan menerapkan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang mitigasi banjir dan kenaikan permukaan air Danau Tigi di Kecamatan Tigi, Kabupaten Deiyai, Provinsi Papua Tengah. Hasil/Temuan: Hasil penelitian menegaskan bahwa BPBD Kabupaten Deiyai telah tanggap dan aktif dalam menanggulangi bencana banjir serta kenaikan volume air di Danau Tigi dan sungai sekitarnya. Hal ini mencerminkan kesungguhan mereka dalam melindungi warga dan mengurangi kerugian akibat bencana alam. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa upaya mitigasi Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) dalam menangani banjir dan peningkatan volume air Danau Tigi di Distrik Tigi, Kabupaten Deiyai, Papua Tengah, dinilai cukup efektif secara keseluruhan.
