Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Identity politics that occurs in Ternate City due to religious and identity issues that are often associated with politics and government, overseeing one identity for the reason of dominating an area with an identity owned by an individual or interest group by local elites and political parties. The problems that arise from the use of identity are feared to lead to various conflicts and election violations that often occur which are rooted in the practice of identity politics, because these practices lead to potential election violations such as civil servant neutrality, sara politicization and money politics that occur in the community. Purpose: This study aims to determine the existence of identity politics, the factors that cause and the impact arising from this practice in organizing simultaneous regional elections in 2020 in the city of ternate. Method: This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. Result: The existence of identity politics in the Ternate City elections is real, but for the direct influence on the contribution to the electoral side of the election of the candidate pairs involved can be said to be small, but ethnic issues in identity politics that occur still exist. So far, the people of Ternate City have carried out political activities with modern politics. One thing is impossible that political elites and political parties are inevitable to utilize identity politics has many ways and strategies. Conclusion: It is expected that in every election from general elections to regional head elections, especially in Ternate City, so as not to cause fanatical attitudes and attitudes towards an identity, ethnic group or to the candidates they support, preventive measures, various prevention efforts are needed from the beginning before and after the implementation of the elections. and also the importance of further political education for the people of Ternate City. Keywords: Political Existence, Identity Politics, Regional Head Election ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Politik identitas yang terjadi di Kota Ternate karena persoalan agama dan identitas yang sering di kaitkan ke dalam hal politik dan pemerintahan, membawahi satu identitas dengan alasan untuk mendominasi suatu wilayah dengan identitas yang dimiliki suatu individu maupun kelompok kepentingan oleh elit lokal maupun partai politik. Permasalahan yang muncul pemanfaatan identitas ditakutkan menjurus ke berbagai konflik dan pelanggaran pemilu yang sering terjadi yang berakar dari praktik politik identitas, karena praktek tersebut menimbulkan potensi- potensi pelanggaran pemilu seperti netralitas asn, politisasi sara dan politik uang yang terjadi di lingkungan masyarakat. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui eksistensi politik identitas, faktor penyebab dan dampak yang timbul dari praktik tersebut dalam penyelenggara pilkada serentak pada tahun 2020 di kota ternate. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil/Temuan: Eksistensi politik identitas pada pilkada Kota Ternate tersebut nyata adanya namun untuk pengaruh langsung terhadap sisi kontribusi pada elektoral keterpilihan dari pasangan calon yang terlibat dapat dikatakan kecil namun isu-isu etnis dalam politik identitas yang terjadi tetap ada. Bahwa sejauh ini masyarakat Kota Ternate melaksanakan kegiatan perpolitikan dengan politik modern, Satu hal tidak mungkin bahwa elit politik maupun parpol tidak terelakkan untuk memanfaatkan politik identitas mempunyai banyak cara dan strategi. Kesimpulan: Diharapkan dalam setiap penyelenggaraan pemilihan mulai dari pemilihan umum hingga pemilihan kepala daerah terutama di Kota Ternate agar tidak menimbulkan sifat dan sikap fanatik terhadap suatu identitas, kelompok etnis maupun terhadap bakal calon yang didukungnya, Tindakan Secara preventif, diperlukan berbagai upaya pencegahan sedari awal sebelum dan setelah pelaksanaan pilkada. dan juga pentingnya pendidikan politik lanjutan bagi masyarakat Kota Ternate.
