Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem/Background (GAP): The author focuses on the problem of community participation and updating information, which is one of the main agendas which is still not being implemented well. Purpose: This research aims to determine the use of government social media in increasing community participation in government administration through Instagram social media in Sukoharjo district. This research aims to find out how to optimize the publication of government information via social media in Sukoharjo Regency. Method: This research model uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. Researchers conducted interviews, observations and documentation at the research location as data collection techniques. In this research, researchers used Mass Communication Theory by Denis Mcquail with the dimensions of Structure, Organizations, Content, Audiences, and Effects. Results: The research results obtained show that the influence produced by the social media of the Sukoharjo Regency Government can be positive or negative. Most people get a positive influence from the information they get. Meanwhile, there are still negative comments regarding posts from the social media of the Sukoharjo Regency Government. Conclusion: The public is very sensitive to the information provided by the Sukoharjo Regency Government via social media. The public is able to see the mistakes made by social media managers and convey them through the comments column in each upload. Most people have a positive influence on the information conveyed by the Sukoharjo Regency Government. However, people still see political issues which are sometimes implied in some of the information uploaded. Keywords: Information, Social Media, Public Services. ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Penulis berfokus pada permasalahan partisipasi masyarakat dan keterbaruan informasi menjadi salah satu agenda utama yang masih belum terlaksana dengan baik. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media sosial pemerintah dalam meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam penyelenggaraan pemerintahan melalui media sosial instagram di kabupaten Sukoharjo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara mengoptimalkan publikasi informasi pemerintahan melalui media sosial di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Metode: Model penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Peneliti melakukan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi pada lokasi penelitian sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan Teori Komunikasi Massa oleh Denis Mcquail dengan dimensi Structure, 2 Organizations, Content, Audiences, dan Effects. Hasil/Temuan: Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan Pengaruh yang dihasilkan media sosial Pemerintah Kabupaten Sukoharjo dapat berupa pengaruh positif atau negatif. Sebagian besar masyarakat mendapat pengaruh positif dari informasi yang di dapat. Sementara itu, masih ada yang berkomentar negatif terkait unggahan dari media sosial Pemerintah Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Kesimpulan: Masyarakat sangat peka terhadap informasi yang diberikan oleh Pemerintah Kabupaten Sukoharjo melalui media sosialnya. Masyarakat mampu melihat celah-celah kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh pengelola media sosial dan menyampaikannya lewat kolom komentar di setiap unggahan. Sebagian besar masyarakat mendapatkan pengaruh positif terhadap informasi yang disampaikan Pemerintah Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Namun masyarakat masih melihat isu-isu politik yang terkadang tersirat di beberapa informasi yang diunggah. Kata kunci: Informasi, Media Sosial, Pelayanan Publik.
