Abstract
Unemployment is one of the social and economic problems that requires handling in Merangin Regency. The relatively high unemployment rate in Merangin Regency shows the need for solutions by the Merangin Regency Government and the Department of Investment, One Stop Integrated Services and Manpower in dealing with unemployment. This research aims to describe optimizing the role of the One Stop Integrated Services Investment and Labor Service in overcoming the unemployment rate in Merangin Regency. The theory used in this research is optimization and role which aims to help analyze overcoming unemployment in Merangin Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with an inductive approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with relevant officials and the community, document analysis, and field observations. Analysis of the data that has been collected is carried out by applying data reduction techniques, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the research findings show that in optimizing the role of overcoming unemployment, the efforts carried out by the Merangin Regency One-Stop Integrated Service and Manpower Investment Service have been quite optimal because the role that has been carried out has been running well by holding skills training for prospective workers and developing entrepreneurship in Merangin Regency as well as maximizing programs that have been implemented directly contribute to job creation. However, many obstacles emerged during its implementation, resulting in slow efforts to overcome unemployment, such as limited human resources and infrastructure, lack of public awareness in training and limited employment opportunities. Optimizing the role of the One Stop Integrated Service Capital Investment and Manpower Service in overcoming unemployment in Merangin Regency through training programs has provided good results by reducing the unemployment rate. It needs to be optimized through other programs so that the open unemployment rate continues to decrease and the welfare of the people of Merangin Regency increases.
