Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background(GAP): Researchers focus on the problem of optimizing the disaster resilient subdistrict program in managing flood disasters in Semarang City. Purpose: The aim of this research is to describe and analyze the optimization of the disaster resilience subdistrict program in managing flood disasters in Semarang City. Method: This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques are carried out through the stages of observation, interviews, and documentation. Results/Findings: The findings obtained by researchers in this research are that optimizing the disaster resilience sub-district program in managing flood disasters can provide protection for the community, however, conditions in the field show that several sub-districts have not implemented this program optimally. Conclusion: The disaster resilient sub-district program in Semarang City has not been fully implemented optimally in efforts to overcome flood disasters in Semarang City because this program is still not evenly distributed across all sub-districts, especially sub-districts which are included in flood-prone areas in Semarang City.
