Abstract

Problem Statement / Background (GAP): The evaluation of the implementation of the Regent General Election conducted by the General Election Commission of Dearah Supiori Regency of Papua Province was carried out because there were still many problems that often occurred during the election, where the Regional Election Commission of Supiori Regency evaluated because many of the pairs of Regent candidates often bribed the public to vote for them and many also from the community were easily influenced because of every issue that was being faced. The General Election Commission of Dearah Supiori Regency wants the election to run well without any problems that will hinder the implementation of the election, especially in the upcoming simultaneous elections. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to formulate the inhibiting factors and strategies of the Supiori Regency Regional Election Commission in overcoming problems that often occur when elections are held and also the Supiori Regency General Election Commission strives so that all matters that can cause problems can be handled properly and the implementation of elections can run well. Method: The theory used is the Evaluation theory from Wingstone. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach with data collection techniques for literature studies and field studies, the data sources used are primary and secondary. Results: The findings of this study show that from the implementation of the evaluation carried out by the Regional Election Commission of Supiori Regency shows that all communities participated in the implementation of the election and the decline in the number of political money carried out by the successful team of each pair of candidates for Regent and Vice Regent of Supiori Regency. Conclusion: The evaluation in Supiori Kabuten went well, this was shown by the discovery of a number of findings and evaluation results as well as factors that hindered the performance of the KPU in the 2020 regional elections.
