Abstract
Problem Statetement/Background (GAP): The urgency of competency balance is an important factor in the rapidly changing world of competition, political economy, and culture. Puprose: This study aims to find out how the competence development of civil servants goes through education and training at Dinas Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Selatan As well as to find out any obstacles and efforts made in its implementation. Method: The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with an inductive approach. Data collection techniques with interviews, documentation, and observation techniques, with informants from the head of the service, the secretary of the service, the head of the field and three employees. Result: The results of the research reviewed based on three dimensions, Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes show the implementation of competency development for Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) through education and training in Dinas Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Selatan successful impact on the formation of PNS professionalism. Conclusion: However, there are still some obstacles such as inadequate budget and limited opportunities for employees who wish to participate. The efforts made by this service are by holding Office Self Training and submitting it to ANRI. The advice that the author can give is the implementation of alternative activities based on education and training methods in order to keep competency development going.
