Abstract
Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Indonesia is a country that adheres to a democratic system of government. Relating to democracy, elections are also one form of implementation of democracy itself. To have the ability or ability to vote, people must be given political education. The dynamics and problems of holding the election itself will certainly have an impact on the political attitudes reflected by novice voters. Political education is certainly a solution to the existence of oblivious practices in holding general elections. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to analyze and determine the role, inhibiting and supporting factors, as well as Bawaslu's efforts in providing political education to novice voters in Bogor regency. Method: This study was conducted using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Sampling techniques used are purposive sampling to identify informants and snowball sampling. Result: The results showed the role of Bawaslu Bogor regency in providing political education to novice voters, seen from 3 dimensions according to Levinson's theory in Soekanto went well even though there are indicators that have not been implemented in the field, namely indicators of inhibition factors and efforts made. Supporting factors consist of the synergy between Bawaslu and Kesbangpol in providing socialization for beginner voters, Bawaslu gets the opportunity to carry out socialization to the public, especially beginner voters, the existence of Bawaslu's personal website is one of the supporting factors in order to socialize elections and political education, especially beginner voters, and there are several political parties that have the awareness of providing socialization related to political education, especially beginner voters. While the inhibiting factors consist of a very large area of Bogor regency and the number of people and a very large permanent voter list, the holding of the Regency Bawaslu to the provincial Bawaslu, the large number of novice voters and limited infrastructure and time, lack of cooperation between work units and Bawaslu and lack of active participation from some political parties. Conclusion: The efforts made to overcome the obstacles that exist, namely synergizing with other work units such as the Bogor Regency Police Department, maximizing the personal website of the Bogor regency Bawaslu and continuing to carry out socialization about elections and provide political education for the community, especially for novice voters.
