Abstract

Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Bone County has some people who feel that they don't care about political education, people feel that political education is only for those who are involved in politics. The low awareness of the public to participate in politics is also due to the lack of public trust in the government. Thus, regional autonomy needs to be carried out in order to restore the trust of local people and provide political education opportunities for democracy in the regions Purpose: Thisstudy aimsto analyze the performance of the National and Political Unity Agency in the implementation of political education, knowing the obstacles faced by the National and Political Unity Agency in the implementation of political education and the efforts made by the National and Political Unity Agency in overcoming the problem of implementing political education in Bone district, South Sulawesi Province. Methods: This study uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach and uses performance theory from Simora as an analysis knife. Result: The results obtained from this study are that with competence, the performance of the National and Political Unity Agency in the implementation of political education that will be provided is also maximum and will be carried outsmoothly and well. Performance dimension, psychological dimension and organizational dimension. In carrying out the duties of the National and Political Unity Agency of Bone Regency, there are inhibiting factors and supporting factors. There are two supporting factors and inhibiting factorsthat affect the performance of the National and Political Unity Agency. Conclusion: The performance of the National and Political Unity Agency of Bone District, South Sulawesi Province, in improving political education has been good, but there are still some inhibiting factors such as the limited quantity of human resources and the lack of public awareness of the importance of political education because they consider political education only for those who enter politics.
