Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The condition of developing the production of palm sugar household industries in Kumpang Tengah Village is that the equipment used in industrial activities is traditional in nature and the existing products have not been able to meet the demand of the community around the village and the lack of capital owned by palm sugar industry players to develop their business. Purpose: Therefore this study aims to formulate a strategy for the development of palm sugar household industry production in Kumpang Tengah Village, Sebangki District, Landak Regency, West Borneo Province. Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with an inductive approach. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Informants were determined by purposive sampling technique. Sources of data in this study are from primary data and secondary data. To obtain an overview of the development of palm sugar home industry production in Kumpang Tengah Village, 5 (five) indicators were used consisting of human resources (HR), natural resources (SDA), capital, entrepreneurship, and information technology. The data analysis uses the SWOT analysis technique by identifying internal and external factors that influence the production activities of the palm sugar household industry in Kumpang Tengah Village. Result: The findings obtained by the authors in this study are that the strategic position is in quadrant I, namely the aggressive strategy. Conclusion: The strategy applied is the S-O strategy. These strategies include: (1) utilizing advances in information technology to introduce palm sugar products locally, nationally and internationally, (2) optimizing the experience of industry players to produce innovative ant palm sugar, and (3) making the most of natural resources so that production sugar continues to rise. Suggestions in this research are that the village government and palm sugar industry players can collaborate to make PIRT and make BUMDesa a partner for palm sugar industry actors in developing palm sugar products. Keywords: Palm Sugar, Home Industry, Development, Strategy ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Kondisi pengembangan produksi industri rumah tangga gula aren di Desa Kumpang Tengah yaitu peralatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan industri bersifat tradisional dan produk yang ada belum mampu memenuhi permintaan masyarakat di sekitar desa serta minimnya modal yang dimiliki oleh pelaku industri gula aren untuk mengembangkan usahanya. Tujuan: Oleh sebab itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk perumusan strategi pengembangan produksi industri rumah tangga gula aren di Desa Kumpang Tengah Kecamatan Sebangki Kabupaten Landak Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan induktif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan kuesioner. Informan ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dari data primer dan data sekunder. Untuk memperoleh gambaran pengembangan produksi industri rumah tangga gula aren di Desa Kumpang Tengah digunakan 5 (lima) indikator yang terdiri dari sumber daya manusia (SDM), sumber daya alam (SDA), modal, kewirausahaan, dan teknologi informasi. Adapun analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis SWOT dengan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal yang mempengaruhi kegiatan produksi industri rumah tangga gula aren di Desa Kumpang Tengah. Hasil/Temuan: Temuan yang diperoleh penulis dalam penelitian ini yaitu diperoleh posisi strategi berada di kuadran I yaitu strategi agresif. Kesimpulan: Strategi yang diterapkan yaitu strategi S-O. Strategi tersebut diantaranya: (1) memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi informasi untuk memperkenalkan produk gula aren secara lokal, nasional maupun internasional, (2) mengoptimalkan pengalaman dari pelaku industri untuk memproduksi inovasi gula aren semut, dan (3) memanfaatkan sumber daya alam semaksimal mungkin sehingga produksi gula terus meningkat. Saran dalam penelitian ini agar pemerintah desa dan pelaku industri gula aren dapat berkolaborasi membuat PIRT dan menjadikan BUMDesa sebagai mitra pelaku industri gula aren dalam mengembangkan produk gula aren semut.
