Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Local political parties have an important role in maintaining local cultural identity and maintaining security and political stability in Aceh, especially after the conflict between the Indonesian government and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM). Based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), the provincial government of Aceh has the right to form local political parties. Therefore, local parties in Subulussalam City are expected to be able to maintain and increase their existence so that they are able to compete with national parties towards the upcoming 2024 general election. Purpose: This study aims to determine the internal and external factors of local political parties and find the right political marketing strategy for local political parties in increasing their existence as local parties. Method: This study used a Quasi-Qualitative Design (QQD)/Semi-Qualitative method. Data collection techniques through interviews, documentation, and questionnaires were then analyzed using IFAS and EFAS, SWOT-4K Matrix, SWOT analysis to produce several strategies. Result: Through SWOT analysis, the authors found internal and external factors of local political parties as well as political marketing strategies that can be used to increase the existence of local political parties towards the upcoming 2024 elections. Conclusion: Based on the results of the analysis, the author suggests fixing internal problems in local political parties and the author also suggests using a Turn around strategy by applying the 2020 Denny JA theory on political marketing.
