Abstract

Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The existence of Industrial Estates is suspected having an influence on people’s welfare due to economic shifts. Purpose: This research aims to determine The influence of the presence of Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC) on the welfare of the community of Margakaya Village, West Telukjambe District, Karawang Regency. Method: The method used in this research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The population in this research are around 147 people of Margakaya Village Communities West Telukjambe District who work in the Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC). The determined sample is obtained based on a confidence level of 90% and the margin of error is 10% developed into the Yamane formula, resulting 60 respondents. In this research, the writer used Simple Random Sampling, with a questionnaire as an instrument using Likert scale manual. In this research, procving the hypothesis by using linear regression and determination coefficient test. Result: The results in this research shows that the regression test conducted with a margin of error og 10% obtained the regression equation Y=35,657+2,045X used as the basis for estimating the level of welfare influenced by the presence of the industrial area. The determination coefficient calculation obtained a correlation value of 0,688, indicating a strong relationship and an influence of 46,5%. Conclusion: This research shows that the presence of Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC) has an influence of 46,5% on the welfare of the community of Margakaya village, West Telukjambe District, while the rest is influenced by other factors that not discussed in this research.
