Abstract
Problem Statement/Background (GAP): This study discusses the Regional Government Strategy in Anticipating Flood Disasters in North Lampung Regency. There are several areas in Lampung province which can be said to be very vulnerable to the threat of floods, especially when it enters the rainy season. Based on data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics, there is an increase in rainfall in certain months. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out what factors are constraining the local government in carrying out strategies in anticipating the flood disaster that occurs. Method: The method used is descriptive qualitative method.In data collection methods, researchers used interviews and documentation techniques. Then the data analysis technique that the researchers used was SWOT analysis by Rangkuti. Result: The results showed that there were internal and external factors that became supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the strategy being carried out. Supporting factors include the government carrying out the vision and mission properly, the government's commitment to carrying out the duties and functions of BPBD. As well as a clear organizational structure and work procedures, the inhibiting factor in implementing this strategy is the limited budget. Inadequately trained human resources, as well as the use of technology that has not been maximized. These supporting and inhibiting factors can influence the North Lampung Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency in implementing a strategy to anticipate floods in North Lampung Regency. Conclusion: There are several alternative strategies that have been found, namely the construction of embankments. Collaborate with related institutions and OPDs, as well as provide understanding to the surrounding community who are vulnerable to the threat of floods.
