Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): It is important to know the form of political participation of first-time voters in the election of the Governor and Deputy Governor in Selat District, the factors that influence the political participation of first-time voters and the efforts made by Pilkada organizers. Purpose: To find out and analyze political participation, factors that influence the political participation of first-time voters and what efforts have been made during the 2020 Simultaneous Regional Elections in Selat District, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan Province to increase the number of first-time voters' political participation. Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with an inductive approach. Data collection methods used in this thesis are interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Result: The findings obtained by the authors in this study are the form of political participation of first-time voters in the 2020 Election of Governor and Deputy Governor in Selat District, Kapuas Regency, where only 50.7% of first-time voters cast their votes. Conclusion: In campaign activities, outreach and political education, the participation of first-time voters is still considered low. There are two factors influencing the political participation of novice voters in Selat District, namely external and internal factors. The advice that the author can give is to conduct an evaluation and add programs to attract the political participation of novice voters. Keywords: Participation, Politics, Beginner Voters, Simultaneous Local Elections, Elections ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Penting untuk mengetahui bentuk partisipasi politik pemilih pemula dalam Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur di Kecamatan Selat, faktor yang mempengaruhi partisipasi politik pemilih pemula serta upaya yang dilakukan oleh penyelenggara Pilkada. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis partisipasi politik, faktor yang memengaruhi partisipasi politik pemilih pemula dan upaya apa saja yang sudah dilakukan pada saat Pilkada Serentak tahun 2020 di Kecamatan Selat Kabupaten Kapuas Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah untuk menaikkan jumlah partisipasi politik pemilih pemula. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan induktif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini adalah dengan wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Adapun teknis analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil/Temuan: Temuan yang diperoleh penulis dalam penelitian ini yaitu bentuk partisipasi politik pemilih pemula dalam Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur di Kecamatan Selat Kabupaten Kapuas tahun 2020 sebanyak 50,7% saja pemilih pemula yang memberikan suaranya. Kesimpulan: Dalam kegiatan kampanye, sosialisasi dan pendidikan politik partisipasi pemilih pemula juga masih dibilang rendah. Faktor yang mempengaruhi partisipasi politik pemilih pemula di Kecamatan Selat ada dua, yaitu pertama faktor eksternal dan internal. Saran yang dapat penulis berikan ialah mengadakan evaluasi dan menambah program untuk menarik partisipasi politik pemilih pemula.
