Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: In writing this thesis, the discussion that will be raised by researchers is about the implementation of the 2020 regional head elections in Sintang Regency by looking at the role of identity politics in the implementation of these elections. Purpose: The purpose of writing this thesis is to see whether there is an influence of identity politics regional head elections in Sintang Regency and how much influence identity politics has. Method: The research method used is a descriptive quantitative method, whose results and discussion are through data that has been processed by the SPSS application and described in detail. In writing this thesis, the theory used is Pierre Van den Bergh's theory for identity politics by dividing three dimensions, namely primodialism, constructivism and instrumentalism and Goran Hayden for the victory of regional head elections dividing three dimensions, namely the actor dimension, structural dimension and empirical dimension. Result: The results of the research that has been conducted found that the influence of identity politics on the victory of the 2020 regional head election in Sintang Regency is in the good category, besides that identity politics has an effect on the community in Sintang Regency but only by 3.3% Meanwhile, identity politics has no relationship with the victory of the regional head because it has a negative correlation sign, the value of the influence of identity politics is high, the value of the victory of the regional head election will be low. Conclusion: The value of the victory of the regional head election will be low. So it can be concluded, that for the negative value of identity politics states that regional head candidates who use identity politics tactics, what happens is that the people of Sintang Regency will not vote for these candidates, as seen by the negative sign in the correlation results. as it shows that people choose regional heads based on quality but not on the basis of ethnicity, race, ethnicity and religion of the regional head candidate pair. Keywords : Identity Politics, Victory, Pilkada, Regional Head Candidates, Interest Group ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Dalam penulisan skripsi ini, pembahasan yang akan diangkat oleh peneliti adalah tentang pelaksaan pemilihan kepala daerah di Kabupaten Sintang dengan melihat peran politik identitas pada pelaksanaan pemilihan tersebut. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penulisan skripsi ini adalah untuk melihat apakah ada pengaruh politik identitas pada pemilihan kepala daerah di Kabupaten Sintang dan seberapa besar pengaruh politik identitas tersebut. Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif deskripstif, yang hasil dan pembahasannya melalui data yang telah diolah Aplikasi SPSS dan dideskripsikan secara rinci. Dalam penulisan skripsi ini, teori yang digunakan adalah teori Pierre Van den Bergh untuk politik identitas dengan membagi tiga dimensi yaitu primodialisme, konstruktivis dan instrumentalisme dan Goran Hayden untuk kemenangan pemilihan kepala daerah membagi tiga dimensi yaitu dimensi actor, dimensi struktur dan dimensi empiris. Hasil: Ditemukan bahwa pengaruh politik identitas terhadap kemenangan pemilihan kepala daerah di Kabupaten Sintang dalam kategori baik, selain itu politik identitas berpengaruh terhadap masyarakat di Kabupaten Sintang namun hanya sebesar 3,3 % Adapun demikian, politik identitas tidak memiliki hubungan dengan kemenangan kepala daerah karena memiliki tanda korelasi negatif nilai pengaruh politik identitas tinggi maka nilai kemenangan pemilihan kepala daerah akan rendah. Kesimpulan: daerah yang menggunakan taktik politik identitas maka yang terjadi masyarakat Kabupaten Sintang tidak akan memilih calon tersebut, seperti dilihat tanda negatif pada hasil korelasi tersebut. sebagaimana menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memilih kepala daerah berdasarkan kualitas melainkan bukan atas dasar etnis,ras,suku dan agama dari pasangan calon kepala daerah.
