Abstract
Problems Statement/Background (GAP): This research was conducted in Tidore City Islands, North Maluku Province to find out how the development of Akesahu Beach attractions and what are the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for the development of Akesahu Beach attractions. Purpose: To find out the role of the Department of Culture and Tourism in the Development of Akesahu Beach Tourism Motorcycles in the City of Tidore Islands, North Maluku Province, to analyze the supporting factors, inhibiting factors and efforts in developing Akesahu Beach tourism objects. The theory used in writing this thesis is using the role theory by Pitana and Gayatri (2005) which explains that the role of government is divided into 3 aspects, namely: Motivators, Facilitators and Dynamics. Methods: The research method used is qualitative research with descriptive methods and inductive approaches, data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. Results/Findings: Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the data that the author used to obtain information that the role of the local government, especially the Culture and Tourism Office of the City of Tidore Islands, has been going well but there are still obstacles in the process. Conclusion: The role of the Tidore Islands City Culture and Tourism Office in developing the potential for the Akesahu Beach Tourism Motorcycle Development is to become a motivator, namely by promoting and socializing to increase public awareness so that the motivator's role has been carried out well. As a facilitator, he develops facilities and infrastructure by collaborating with several related parties to build infrastructure, such as building roads, however, the construction of facilities has not been fully implemented, so the indicators for the facilitator have not been implemented properly. As a dynamist, the Culture and Tourism Office of the City of Tidore Islands collaborates with various parties by forming tourism awareness groups as a form of cooperation with the public and the private sector.
