Abstract

ABTRACT Problems/Background (GAP): National character is an important aspect of the quality of human resources because the quality of a nation's character determines the progress of a nation. Characters that have been instilled since ancient times can prevent the sense of nationalism and state sovereignty from diminishing. One of the efforts to improve national character is to strengthen character education. In its application, it is closely related to the internalization of the value of love for the motherland in border students. Purpose: This study then aims to determine the impact of the character education strengthening program on the internalization of the value of love for the motherland in border students in Sebatik District, Nunukan Regency. Method: This study used a quantitative approach through a cross-sectional survey. Strengthening character education and internalizing the value of loving the homeland was obtained from statistical data from respondents who were border students in Sebatik District. in this study using a non-probability sample that is stratified sampling. Then the existing statistical data will be supplemented with secondary data in the form of other supporting documents obtained through observation and indirect interviews with program implementers at SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik. Results/Findings: The results of this study indicate that in general the program variables for strengthening character education (X) and the internalization of the value of love for the homeland of border students (Y) is included in the "good" category with the influence of variable X on variable Y of 53.6% while the remaining 46.4% is caused by other variables not explained in this study. Therefore, it is hoped that the government and the implementers of this program will continue to improve program implementation and internalize the love for the motherland. Conclusion: the program to strengthen character education (X) has a positive impact on the internalization of the value of loving the homeland (Y) where all respondents in this study have a level of knowledge of strengthening character education programs and internalizing the value of loving the homeland which is quite satisfactory with the overall analysis results being at "good" category Keywords: Strengthening, Education, Character, Internalization, Students ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Karakter bangsa merupakan aspek penting dari kualitas sumber daya manusia karena kualitas karakter bangsa menentukan kemajuan suatu bangsa. Karakter yang yang sudah tertanam sejak dahulu dapat mencegah rasa nasionalisme dan kedaulatan negara berkurang. Salah satu upaya peningkatan karakter bangsa adalah dengan penguatan pendidikan karakter. Dalam penerapannya erat kaitannya dengan internalisasi nilai cinta tanah air pada siswa perbatasan.  Tujuan: Penelitian ini kemudian bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya dampak dari program penguatan pendidikan karakter terhadap internalisasi nilai cinta tanah air pada siswa perbatasan di Kecamatan Sebatik Kabupaten Nunukan Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui survey cross sectional. Penguatan pendidikan karakter dan internalisasi nilai cinta tanah air diperoleh dari data statistik responden yang merupakan siswa perbatasan yang ada di Kecamatan Sebatik. pada penelitian ini meggunakan sampel nonprobabilitas yang bersifat stratified sampling. Kemudian data statistik yang sudah ada akan ditambah dengan data sekunder berupa dokumen pendukung lainnya yang didapatkan melalui observasi dan wawancara tidak langsung pada pelaksana program di SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Hasil/Temuan: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara umum variabel program penguatan pendidikan karakter (X) dan internalisasi nilai cinta tanah air siswa perbatasan (Y) termasuk dalam kategori “baik” dengan pengaruh variabel X terhadap variable Y sebesar 53.6% sedangkan selebihnya, sebesar 46.4% disebabkan oleh variabel lain yang tidak dijelaskan dalam penelitian ini. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan pemerintah dan pelaksana program ini terus meningkatkan pelaksanaan program dan internalisasi cinta tanah air tersebut. Kesimpulan: program penguatan pendidikan karakter (X) memiliki dampak positif terhadap internalisasi nilai cinta tanah air (Y) dimana seluruh responden pada penelitian ini memiliki tingkat pengetahuan program penguatan pendidikan karakter dan internalisasi nilai cinta tanah air yang cukup memuaskan dengan hasil analisis secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori yang “baik” Kata kunci : Penguatan,Pendidikan, Karakter, Internalisasi, Siswa
