Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The problem that is currently happening in South Sorong Regency is the lack of effectiveness of the Tourism Office in developing the potential of natural resources that are already available. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to find out what strategies can be carried out by the South Sorong Regency Tourism Office to develop tourism potential. To find out strategies that can be recommended to the Tourism Office, this research uses the SWOT analysis theory from F. Rangkuti (2017). Method: The method used by this researcher is to use a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through direct observation, interviews, and documentation. At this stage, the researcher will measure the strategic level of the issue so that they can find out how much the contribution of the original issue has to efficiency and organizational success in achieving goals, as a research tool is used as a litmus test tool. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The strategies that have been found by researchers are then tested using the litmus test. Result: The research results found are in the form of recommended strategies, including establishing cooperation with the surrounding community in the tourism area, for example providing (tour guides, tour packages, souvenir kiosks managed by the community, working with other government agencies in regulating security area borders for tourist attractions and natural disaster management, and the Tourism Office repairs and improves facilities that can make it easier for tourists to meet their needs, for example hotels/lodgings, means of transportation, restaurants and garbage disposal sites in these tourist attractions. Conclusion: Regency Government South Sorong should further optimize the promotions and publication of tourism objects for the South Sorong Regency government, while from the Human Resources side, the government is expected to prioritize and improve tourism development in the employee recruitment process. Keywords: Tourism Development Strategy, South Sorong ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Masalah yang sedang terjadi di Kabupaten Sorong Selatan adalah kurangnya keefektifan Dinas Pariwisata dalam mengembangakn potensi sumber daya alam yang sudah tersedia. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi apa yang bisa di lakukan oleh Dinas Parawisata Kabupaten Sorong Selatan untuk mengembangkan Potensi Pariwisata. Untuk mengetahui strategi yang dapat direkomendasikan kepada Dinas Pariwisata penelitian ini menggunakan teori analisi SWOT dari F. Rangkuti (2017). Metode: Metode yang dilakukan Peneliti ini adalah menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif.Teknik pengumpulan Data yang di dilakukan melalui obsevasi langsung wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Pada tahap ini, peineliti akan meingukur tingkat strategi isu agar dapat dikeitahuii seberapa besar kontribusi isu tersebuit teirhadap eksistensi dan keberhasilan organisasi dalam upaya pencapaian tujuan, sebagai alat ukurnya dipergunakan alat uji litmus. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Strategi yang sudah ditemukan oleh peneliti kemudian di tes menggunakan uji litmus. Hasil/Temuan: Hasil penetlitian yang ditemukan berupa strategi yang direkomendasikan antara lain, menjalin kerja sama dengan masyarakat sekitar di area pariwisata,misalnya menyediakan (tour guide,paket wisata, kios sovenir yang di kelola oleh masyarakat, bekerja sama dengan instansi pemerintahan lainnya dalam mengatur perbatasan wilayah keamanan tempat wisata dan penanggulangan bencana alam, dan Dinas Pariwisata memperbaiki dan meningkatkan fasilitas yang dapat memudahkan wisatawan untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya,misalnya hotel/penginapan,alat transpotasi,rumah makan dan tempat pembuangan sampah yang berada di tempat wisata tersebut. Kesimpulan: Pemerintah Kabupaten Sorong Selatan hendaknya lebih mengoptimalkan lagi promosi-promosi dan publikasi objek-objek wisata pemerintah Kabupaten Sorong Selatan. Sedangkan dari sisi Sumber Daya Manusia, pemerintah diharapkan lebih memprioritaskan dan meningkatkan pengembangan pariwisata dalam proses perekrutan pegawai.
