Abstract

Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Voter behavior in Depok City influences people's participation in using or not using their voting rights in general elections. In the 2020 mayoral election, there were 479,451 voters who did not exercise their voting rights, this figure was greater than the number of votes obtained by the winner of the 2020 mayoral election in Depok City. Apart from that, in every mayoral election held in Depok City, candidate pairs supported by the Prosperous Justice Party always win the mayoral election in Depok City. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the behavior of voters in Depok City in making their choices, the causes of the higher abstentions compared to the winning votes for the mayoral election and to find out what is behind the dominance of the Prosperous Justice Party in every mayoral election in Depok City. Method: This study uses quantitative methods and analysis of voter behavior according to Gaffar Theory (2005:47). The data collection technique was carried out by means of a questionnaire (384 respondents) by distributing the Google form link as well as by literature study. Result: The findings obtained by the authors in this study are that the voter behavior of the people of Depok City in the 2020 mayoral election is influenced by several variables with the results of the party identification variable and the candidate personal quality identification variable having the highest influence. This variable is a derivative of the psychological approach. Conclusion: The voting behavior of the people of Depok City in the 2020 mayoral election belongs to the psychological voter type. Providing political education by the government and related institutions such as the KPU or political parties is expected to be able to change the behavior of voters in Depok City to become rational voters. Keywords: Election of mayor, Prosperous Justice Party, Voter behavior Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Perilaku pemilih di Kota Depok mempengaruhi partisipasi masyarakat dalam menggunakan atau tidak menggunakan hak suaranya dalam pemilihan umum. Pada Pemilihan walikota 2020 mendapati sebanyak 479.451 pemilih yang tidak menggunakan hak suaranya, angka tersebut lebih besar dari jumlah suara yang diperoleh oleh pemenang pemilihan walikota 2020 di Kota Depok. Selain itu juga pada setiap penyelenggaraan pemilihan walikota di Kota Depok, pasangan calon yang didukung oleh Partai Keadilan Sejahtera selalu menjadi pemenang pemilihan walikota di Kota Depok. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis perilaku pemilih masyarakat Kota Depok dalam menentukan pilihannya, penyebab angka golput lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan suara pemenang pemilihan walikota dan untuk mengetahui apa yang melatarbelakangi dominasi Partai Keadilan Sejahtera dalam setiap pemilihan walikota di Kota Depok. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitiatif dan analisis terhadap perilaku pemilih menurut Teori Gaffar (2005:47). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner (384 responden) dengan menyebarkan link google form serta dengan studi pustaka. Hasil/Temuan: Temuan yang diperoleh penulis dalam penelitian ini yaitu bahwa perilaku pemilih masyarakat Kota Depok pada pemilihan walikota 2020 dipengaruhi oleh beberapa variabel dengan hasil variabel identifikasi partai dan variabel identifikasi kualitas personal calon memiliki pengaruh tertinggi. Variabel tersebut merupakan turunan dari pendekatan psikologis. Kesimpulan: Perilaku pemilih masyarakat Kota Depok pada pemilihan walikota tahun 2020 tergolong dalam tipe pemilih psikologis. Pemberian edukasi politik oleh pemerintah maupun lembaga-lembaga terkait seperti KPU ataupun parpol diharapkan mampu mengubah perilaku pemilih masyarakat Kota Depok menjadi pemilih yang rasional.
