Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Stunting is a national problem that is currently being faced by the State of Indonesia. One of the policies to tackle stunting in Indonesia is the Nutrition Sensitive and Specific Nutrition Intervention Program. Purpose : This study aims to describe the Implementation of Sensitive Nutrition and Specific Nutrition Intervention Programs in Reducing Stunting by the Health Office in Karo District and to analyze the inhibiting and supporting factors as well as the efforts made to overcome them. Method : This study uses qualitative methods and data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Result/Finding : The results showed that the implementation of the Nutrition Sensitive and Specific Nutrition Intervention Program in Reducing Stunting by the Health Office in Karo District was not effective. This is evidenced by several variables that researchers use as a reference, namely communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Conclusions : All variables have not run optimally, so that internal factors are still needed, namely increasing coordination with related OPDs, resources in the field of employee competence at the puskesmas and fulfilling valid measuring instruments, increasing the quantity of performance through consistency of activities, besides that a commitment is needed in the division of tasks that are There is a clear distinction between Sensitive Nutrition Interventions and Specific Nutrition so that the program can run well and is on target. It is hoped that these variables will be immediately corrected so that the Sensitive and Specific Nutrition Intervention policy can actually reduce the number of stunting, especially in Karo District.
