Abstract

ABSTRACT Problems/Background (GAP): Researchers focus on the lack of understanding of local communities regarding the importance of tourism which aims to improve the local community's economy, and the lack of public awareness in participating in the successful development of tourist objects as well as the lack of creativity of the community in taking advantage of opportunities from the opening of these tourist objects as place to increase revenue. Purpose: This research is to find out the role of the government of Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency or more precisely the Sports and Tourism Youth Service in developing the Bamboo Rafting tourist attraction in Loksado District, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. Method: This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method with an inductive approach. Collecting data with interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis by going through the stages of data compaction, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion or verification. Results/Findings: The Office of Youth, Sports and Tourism of Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency has developed the Bamboo Rafting tourist attraction but it has not been maximally marked by dimensions according to Cooper, et al (1993:81), namely Accessibilities, Amenities and Ancillary which have not been fulfilled. Conclusion: The implementation of the development of the Bamboo Rafting tourist attraction by the Youth Sports and Tourism Office has gone well. However, it is constrained by the lack of public awareness in participating in developing tourism objects in Loksado District, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. Keyword: Development, tourist attraction, Bamboo Rafting ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang(GAP): Peneliti berfokus pada kurangnya pemahaman masyarakat lokal mengenai pentingnya pariwisata yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat lokal, dan kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam ikut serta menyukseskan pengembangan objek wisata serta kurangnya kretivitas masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan peluang dari dibukanya objek wisata tersebut sebagai tempat untuk meningkatkan pendapatan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peran pemerintah Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan atau lebih tepatnya Dinas Pemuda Olahraga Dan Pariwisata dalam pengembangan objek wisata Bamboo Rafting di Kecamatan Loksado Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan induktif. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dengan melalui tahapan pemadatan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, konklusi atau verifikasi. Hasil/Temuan: Dinas Pemuda Olahraga dan Parwisata Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan sudah melakukan pengembangan objek wisata Bamboo Rafting namun belum maksimal ditandai dengan demensi menurut Cooper, dkk (1993:81) yaitu Accessibilities, Amenities dan Ancillary yang belum terpenuhi. Kesimpulan: Pelaksanaan pengembangan objek wisata Bamboo Rafting Oleh Dinas Pemuda Olahraga Dan Pariwisata sudah berjalan dengan baik. Namun, terkendala pada kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam berpartisipasi untuk mengembangkan objek wisata di Kecamatan Loksado Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan.
