Abstract
Problems/Background (GAP): Indonesia is known as a multicultural country with a variety of cultures that have the potential for people to be vulnerable to intergroup conflict and difficult to develop social integration. The threats of national disintegration has penetrated several regions of Indonesia, one of them is in Cimahi City which is marked by the emergence of radical ideological communities that penetrate the educational world, hence it becomes a threat to the youth generation who should be a milestone in nation building. This is a challenge for the Political and National Unity Agency of Cimahi City, which has duties and functions to create social and political stability. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to find out the role of National and Political Unity Agency in internalizing national insight for the youth generation to prevent national disintegration in Cimahi City. Method: This thesis uses Soekanto's roles theory which consists of actual roles, expected roles, position roles, and behavioral roles. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data references and literature research. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview and documentation then using data analysis techniques which are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results/Findings The results show that the role of the National Unity and Political Agency in internalizing national insight for the youth generation to prevent national disintegration has been carried out such as holding a forum for socializing national insight to the younger generation even though there are still obstacles found such as budget limitations, inadequate human resources and inadequate office infrastructure. Conclusion: For the supporting factors are the area of Cimahi City is not too large, cooperation with stakeholders, and the people of Cimahi City who tolerate each other. Efforts made in overcoming obstacles are to cooperate with other agencies to cover the shortcomings that hinders the program. Keywords: Roles, National Insight, Youth Generation, Integration
