Abstract
Problem Statement/Background (GAP): This research was conducted by taking into role what is being done by Sub-district Head in leading a government organization in the Sub-district to improving employee performance Sub-districts. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to determine what are the role made to improving the performance of state civil servant in the Sungkai Selatan Sub-district, as well as knowing the supporting and inhibiting factors and also effort to overcome these inhibiting factors. Methods: In this study, the author uses descriptive qualitative research method with inductive approach which aims to obtain information about the current situation by looking at the relationship between the variables exist. Result: The results showed that the District Head of Sungkai Selatan Subdistrict had carried out his Role in Improving the Performance of Civil Servants, this was related to his Rights and Obligations in general but not yet optimally related to improving employee performance. Conclusion: To overcome the inhibiting factors in improving the performance of Camat officials make efforts to provide good examples to employees, provide supervision to employees, implement reward and punishment that are fair, Solve problems and make decisions, accommodate aspirations and motivations to civil servants in the Sungkai Selatan sub-district.
