Abstract

Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Disaster mitigation is one of the major risk reductions for flood disasters that will occur in Tulang Bawang Regency. The flood disaster occurred due to high rainfall causing the Way Tulang Bawang river to overflow into settlements. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the level of community participation in the disaster mitigation outreach program. Methods: This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The focus of the research is to describe flood disaster mitigation through increasing community participation by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in Tulang Bawang Regency. And describes how the effort of the Tulang Bawang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency is to increase community participation in mitigating the flood disaster. Result: The results of this study are flood disaster management activities carried out by the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Tulang Bawang Regency, namely in the form of outreach to the community about how and what actions must be carried out when a disaster occurs. Efforts carried out by the Regional Disaster Management Agency to increase community participation in flood disaster mitigation by increasing community participation include prevention and preparedness. to raise public awareness. Conclusion: With these activities, it was concluded that there was still a lack of community participation in participating in activities carried out by the Regional Disaster Management Agency in Tulang Bawang Regency.
