Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research). requirements or documents that have been determined by the land agency based on PP no. 1997 concerning Land Registration. If there is a right to land, then the customary land owner of the Sumuri tribe will or will not relinquish their ulayat land to those who need the land..Purpose: to find out and analyze the role of the Bintuni Bay Regency Land Agency in issuing a letter of relinquishment of customary land in Teluk Bintuni Regency.Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result: : The role of the Bintuni Bay Land Agency in the process of relinquishing customary lands of the welli tribe has been carried out properly to issue a letter of release of customary land with full responsibility and the community submitting a land certificate application has also completed the requirements that have been determined and determined by the national land agency. Conclusion: the implementation of the issuance of the release of customary land is carried out in accordance with the main tasks and functions with the established policies, carrying out the duties and functions in the implementation of activities in the competent and optimal land agency, although there are several obstacles in carrying out land measurements. The researcher's suggestion in overcoming the existing problems is to coordinate as well as possible between the makers of the submission of the land release with the land agency so that the registration can run well without any obstacles in it.
