Abstract
ABSTRACT Population mobility consists of permanent and non-permanent population mobility. Population migration is part of the mobility of the permanent population, a person can be said to have migrated when he has moved across the administrative boundaries of an area within a certain period of time.The internship research method used is a qualitative method with an inductive approach. The method of data collection is to use interview techniques, documentation. Interviews were conducted with government officials in the Jayapura City area.The results showed that the economic factor is the main factor of population migration in Jayapura City. The influencing factors are the lack of operations carried out by the government for data collection on migrants, weak supervision and evaluation, government and community relations in reporting and the assumption that the procedures for managing population documents are complicated. In this study, the Jayapura City government has not made a policy to reduce migration in Jayapura City.This study is intended to find the root of the problem and provide a solution for the Jayapura City government in reducing the number of migrants in Jayapura City.
