Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The author focuses on problems related to the world of politics where there are a number of coalition parties winning in the general election. Purpose : This study aims to determine the Coalition of Political Parties in Winning the Regional Head General Election in Keerom Regency in 2020. Method: The research used is a descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection techniques used are Interview, Observation, and Documentation. Results: Based on interviews conducted by coalitions of political parties in winning the regional head elections, this occurred because there was a coalition of political parties that were able to work together to gain victory for the candidate pairs for regent and deputy regent but there were inhibiting factors in the campaign process, namely activity restrictions due to the Covid pandemic. -19 so that the campaign process becomes limited. Even though there were restrictions on the coalition of political parties, it was very satisfying because of the cohesiveness of the team so that they won. Conclusion: This study concludes that political parties who will later form a coalition will be able to cooperate with other political parties and form coalitions with political parties that have the same goal of winning. Keywords: Political Party Coalition, General Election, Regional Head
