Abstract
Problem/Background (GAP): The role of the Civil Service Police Unit in maintaining peace and public order in Konawe Selatan Regency is still considered less than optimal. This is because there are still people who do not comply with health protocols as a result of the lack of socialization and operations carried out by the Civil Service Police Unit in South Konawe Regency. Purpose: The purpose of this study are (1) to determine the implementation of the duties and functions of the Civil Service Police Unit in preventing the spread of Covid-19 in Konawe Selatan Regency (2) to find out what are the inhibiting factors for the implementation of the duties and functions of the Civil Service Police Unit in preventing the spread of Covid-19 19 in South Konawe Regency (3) to find out the efforts made to overcome the inhibiting factors in the Implementation of the Duties and Functions of the Civil Service Police Unit in preventing the spread of Covid-19 in South Konawe Regency. Methods: This study uses qualitative methods and the author uses two types of data, namely secondary data and primary data collected using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used is by reducing, presenting and then drawing conclusions. Results: This study states that preventing the spread of Covid-19 is influenced by 4 dimensions so that the implementation of preventing the spread of Covid-19 can run well as expected, namely communication, human resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Obstacles faced by the Civil Service Police Unit of South Konawe Regency include limited facilities and infrastructure in terms of transportation to support the implementation of tasks in the field, a relatively large area in Southeast Sulawesi Province with road access in some areas that are still not good. So that efforts are needed to be made by the Civil Service Police Unit of South Konawe Regency, including the use of private vehicles to carry out tasks, dividing the area into 4 large areas so that the main goal of preventing the spread of Covid-19 can be carried out properly. Conclusion: there are still several obstacles or inhibiting factors in the Implementation of the Duties and Functions of the Civil Service Police Unit in preventing the spread of Covid-19 in Konawe Selatan Regency, namely the lack of infrastructure and a fairly large area with road access that is fairly poor.
