Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): For more than 15 years, the problem in Aceh Tamiang Regency is flooding during the rainy season. As a result, the affected community suffered losses, both in the form of material and non-material. Efforts from the Government are very important to reduce the risk of this flood disaster happening again and again.Therefore, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Aceh Tamiang Regency needs to make efforts to effectively reduce the potential for flood disasters. Objective This research is entitled "Analysis of Flood Disaster Risk Reduction in Aceh Tamiang District, Aceh Province". Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the efforts of BPBD Aceh Tamiang in reducing flood risk in Aceh Tamiang district. Method: To find out the inhibiting and supporting factors, as well as the efforts made to reduce the potential for flooding. The research used descriptive qualitative method with an inductive approach. Result: The caddition, this study also shows some of the obstacles encountered in the process of maximizing the flood risk reduction process. Efforts made by BPBD in overcoming problems and obstacles are conducting programs in accordance with the dimensions and main tasks of the Aceh Tamiang Regional Disaster Management Agency. Conclusion: Conclusion of this study indicate that flood risk reduction efforts in Aceh Tamiang are still in the process of maximizing based on three dimensions, namely capacity building, vulnerability reduction, and threat reduction.
