Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem statement/background (GAP): This research is entitled empowering rural communities through an appropriate technology innovation program in Kapuas Regency. The problems in this study are due to the existence of poor people in the province of Central Kalimantan, unemployment in Kapuas Regency and the lack of optimal village funds in assisting the development of community empowerment. Purpose: The focus of this study aims to describe the empowerment of rural communities with appropriate technological innovation programs, supporting and inhibiting factors faced by the community and village empowerment department in empowering rural communities through appropriate technological innovation programs in Kapuas district. Method:This research uses qualitative methods and types of descriptive research. . By using primary and secondary data sources, namely using data obtained from interviews, observation and documentation, as well as data that can be obtained related to this research. The analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Result: In this study using the Mardikanto theory concept which divides empowerment theory into four groups, namely a. human development b. business building c. community development d. institutional development. Based on the results of research on community empowerment through the appropriate technology innovation program (TTG), which is a community empowerment program to increase knowledge, the ability to provide productive activities and economic change to beneficiaries of the surrounding community in their business. The process of empowering appropriate technology innovation programs is carried out in Kapuas district. Conclusion: There are several inhibiting factors such as community creativity, the absence of funds from the district government, natural resources and the efforts made by the community and village empowerment service, namely by continuing to support and socialize the village community so that they can develop their abilities by utilizing existing natural resources. Dominating is the development of fish bone, namely galam wood replacing iron as a more real and meaningful house foundation for community and local government involvement Keywords: Empowerment; appropriate technology; natural resources
