Abstract
Problem Statement/Background (GAP): This thesis entitled "Local Government Strategy in the Development of Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) Motorcycle Rickshaw as a Tourism Icon in the Pematangsiantar City of North Sumatra Province". Purpose: The study aims to find out and analyze local government strategies in the development of Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) motorcycle rickshaws as tourism icons, to find out and analyze the supporting factors and obstacles to local government strategies in the development of Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) motorcycle rickshaws as tourism icons, to find out and analyze efforts to overcome the inhibiting factors of local government strategies in the development of Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) motorcycle rickshaws as tourism icons in Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra Province. Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with an inductive approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, documentation and data triangulation. Result: The results of the regional government strategy research in the development of motorized tricycles (BSA) are quite good. Conclusion: Based on the results of research in the field, it can be concluded that the data author did obtained information that the local government strategy in the development of Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) rickshaws has been going well, but in the process, it still must be carried out with seriousness and commitment from the local government of Pematangsiantar City. Pematangsiantar City Government is expected to create a legal basis that makes BSA rickshaws an icon of tourism in Pematangsiantar City.
