Abstract

Problem Statement / Background (GAP) The author focuses on the problem where the number of tourists in Tomohon City is decreasing from year to year and it can be proven from 2018 to 2020 that there is a significant decline so that special attention is needed from the government. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the performance of tourism office employees in increasing the charm of tourism in Tomohon City and to find out the inhibiting factors and the efforts made. Methods: This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with an inductive approach and an analysis of the performance theory of Dwiyanto. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews (10 informants), documentation and observation. Results/Findings: The obstacles faced by the Tomohon City Tourism Office in increasing tourism are employees with educational backgrounds and skills in tourism implementation as well as employee discipline that is still lacking and services that are not optimal. Conclusion: That the performance of employees by the Tomohon City Tourism Office is still not optimal. This can be seen from the inhibiting factors both from the Tourism Office and from the employees themselves. The suggestion from this article is that promotion in Tomohon City can be further improved through social media such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and so on.
